how to share wireless connection?

hello, my first post. im an extreme linux newbie.

i recently install opensuse 11.1, and i accidentally deleted windows (got it back though. cannot connect to wireless for somereason…thats not the point though)

anyway, i play on xbox live, and i use my computer’s internet conncection to connect to xbox live (via internet connection sharing on windows)

my question is if there is anyway to share my computer’s internet connection to get on xbox on opensuse 11.1?

thanks in advance,
zee

Not sure what xbox live is, but if you’re asking whether you can pipe the internet through openSUSE to XboxLive with a Linux equivalent of ICS, the answer is yes. The Linux form of ICS is called IP Masquerading. Have a read of this tutorial:
openSUSE ICS: Internet Connection Sharing (Linux IP Masquerading) with Suse or Windows Servers

thankyou very much!

You’re very welcome

I want to share wireless Internet connection with my mobile. I have a laptop with opensuse 11.2 having a wired connection on eth0 and would like to share the Internet using wlan0. I followed the instructions on the two link below but my mobile cannot find the shared connection.

ICS - openSUSE
openSUSE ICS: Internet Connection Sharing (Linux IP Masquerading) with Suse or Windows Servers

I even tried to set a static IP address, default gateway and DNS on the mobile but that did not work.
