How to share folders using LXDE desktop environment?

Hi, on an old Dell Latitude 110L laptop is have installed OpenSuse 11.3, using the LXDE desktop. It’s amazing how fast it is. I have tried Gnome on it, KDE and also XFCE but I really must say LXDE wins big time.
I do have one question though: how can I share folders so it is possible to have this desktop in my home network and share files between the computers?
Who can help me please.

If they are running Linux too the like me you could use ssh

Otherwise, if they are windows, then samba. Help at swerdna’s

Welcome here.

What exactly do you want to share, what OS’s are on the other computers?
Question is not whether it’s possible, question is what should be used. If the others are all linux, you could use NFS, if they are winboxes you could use Samba. A mix of both is possible too. That’s for the part where the laptop shares it’s files with the other computers.
For the sharing of files on the other computers, if they are winboxes, use samba-client to connect to the home-network. Go Yast - Windows Domain Membership.

And yes, LXDE is superfast. I’ve made a lot of people with old laptops happy. LXDE makes them very usable. Good you love it. I’ll start a session to see if there’s an easy way to do this from LXDE itself.
