How to setup your Nokia 5800 3G usb modem on opensuse 11.1

3G modem for nokia 5800 IN SuSE 11.1

Prerequisites: Check & if necessary install this software using Yast: ppp, udev, smpppd, wvdial, KInternet

-Plug Nokia 5800 in via USB cable and select PC-Suite on Phone.
-In modem from yast, you will see nokia 5800 not configured, select edit from bottom.
-It should be listed as /dev/ttyACM0
-In the modem details section, change modem speed to 460800
Add the Nokia 5800 USB modem init strings:

INIT STRING 2: AT Q0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
INIT STRING 3: AT +CGDCONT=1,IP,“your access point”

<<< for “your access point” This u can get from your phone datapackage setting.

-Phone number usually: *99#.
-The user name and password. If you don’t know the username and password, use “your access point” for both.
-Open Kinternet.
-Dial In Via KInternet.
