I have not found a way to set NEMO as a default File manager.
I have been accustomed to F3 - dual panel, which is missing for some reason from Nautilus.
I can open Nemo throug klik-klik-klik from Menu, but it would be nice to open it through Flag-E shortcut.
My customer came and found a way.
Through Keyboard setting she built a custom Shortcut for Super-E pointing to /usr/bin/nemo
Here,
In Configure Desktop choose Applications (with star icon) and then choose default applications

Sorry. There is not such lines in the menu of OpenSuse Leap Cinnamon.
In most cases it is easier to make configurations in terminal, because every desktop is different
yes… sorry for that… i just thought you are using kde since no desktop were mentioned…
As long as you do not inform people what desktop you are talking about, you will either get no answer (from people that refuse to guess), or get multiple answers not applicabale to your sitution.
Besides, I’m using this computer for work and don’t have time to start building themes.
I installed Suse to test, if it is better than Linux Mint Cinnamon I have been using for some years.
I’m very disappointed.
- The colors are awfull. they make it hard to work with the system
- The configuration menus in Menu/Preferences are too castrated to be usefull
Sorry, I forgot
OpenSuse 42.1 x86_64
Cinnamon version 2.8.7
Linux kernel 4.1.15-8-default
I started with Gnome, but missed some shortcuts I liked and installed Cinnamon
