how to set bluetooth headset for playback device

hi,
I am able to successfully pair my headset with computer.But the playback device still remains my laptop speakers and i am not able to switch to headset.
opening the headset settings it shows output volume and other stats as disabled also in playback devices I don’t see my headset.
I am using 11.4 with GNOME3 (also have XFCE)
any help would be appreciated.

Suse 11.3 uses pulseaudio to control this. The pulseaudio volume control and the input/output devices can be selected.

These packages may be needed to have the pulseaudio volume control applet.

i have the latest packages installed “Blue Devil” .Now As soon as I connect the headset it switches off .
any help would be appreciated

I’ve had good luck using blueman, its a gnome app but works in kds also.
