How to select preferred graphics card and drivers?

Hi,

I have a cheapo Nvidea motherboard and an ATI 5700 graphics card. I wanted to know if there is a simple way to ensure that OS11.3 is using the ATI graphics card and radeonhd drivers instead of the Nvidea hareware+drivers. Is it necessary to blacklist the Nvidea drivers? Is there a simple YAST fix? Any insight would be appreciated.

You’re saying that the Nvidia video is built into the MB? I have that case
and I just disable the onboard video in the BIOS setup when I want to play
with a different card. Simplest, surest way I know of.

In addition to the BIOS setting suggestions, you might find some basic graphic card ‘practical’ theory useful:

No, that is solved on the motherboard BIOS, you need to disable the onboard graphic adapater.
