How to save a session ?

In system preferences -> Advanced -> Sessions managment shows:

When access linux:

  • Restore previous session (I have selected now)
  • Restore session saved manually
  • Begin with an empty session.

I want the session saved manually option.

The thing is I don’t know how to save a session.

Anybody can help me on this ?

thanks,

i can only give you a start to what you are looking for, i had the same question a few months ago when i thought it might be useful to me, and was lucky enough to run into this:

qdbus org.kde.ksmserver /KSMServer saveCurrentSessionAs “name”

which apparently can be issued from the cli, or you can start qdbusviewer from the cli, and go thru the Session bus listings to find that section and right click to call it.

if you need more info, i’d suggest you hang out in the kde channel on freenode till you run into a dev that can answer your questions, it’s not a documented feature.

I’ll look it up in the freenode channel then.

Thanks

I found the solution for my problem!!

When you choose “Restore the session saved manually”, automatically appears a button over “change user” !

That’s all!

was very easy!

Cheers!
