I think it is better to use KDeveloper. just install it from your suse 11 DVD!
KDeveloper is a IDE with graphical interface. like other compilers in windows.
after installing just click new project and…
u can compile with shift+F9 
you can also get the netbeans IDE for c/c++ for linux and install it ,It is also best ide for c/c++ for linux…you can also try Eclipse for c/c++;)
