How to revert to older version of Suse?

Hi,

A few weeks ago I installed Suse 11.0. Since then I only had problems with it :’(.

  1. I don’t have taskbar anymore. So starting a program is difficult (Alt F2 only helps if you know the name of the program).
  2. I have “stripy cursor”, probably caused by my monitor not being recognized by Yast (I have an Octigen LCD 19" monitor). This results in text which contains tripes through it, making it unreadable.

Now I would like to try out Suse 10.3. My questions:

  • Is this wise (as in Suse 11.0 is stable!, but do give explanations)?
  • Where can I find Suse 10.3?
  • Can I throw away the old installation (format the root partition) during installation?

As I consider my current problems (missing taskbar and stripy cursor) installation problems, might I ask if there are alternatives? I posted about this on the forums before, and the suggestions I got did not work out for me. Maybe someone else can come with a solution?

Are you using Gnome or KDE3.5 or KDE4?

What graphics card do you have?

I found a solution for my lost taskbar problem. In the View menu of Conqueror, select ‘Show hidden files’. In the home directory, rename .kde3 to .kde3.old, and log out and in again. :X Now the stripy cursor…
