How to Restore Startup Theme (not Bootloader and not Logon)

After one of the updates (the same day as the kernel was updated) my Startup Theme has been changed from standard SUSE light-green to a dark SUSE EDUCATION.

I’m not talking about GDM logon (this is OK) and not about Bootloader screen (also OK).

I meant a progress of the SUSE loading.

I have Open SUSE 11.1 with GNOME and some software from EDUCATION repo but not a Education release.

Re-install bootsplash-branding-openSUSE package, it must have been replaced by education one.

Knowing this name I checked packages and I had some Education themes.

I removed all of theme and reboot - didn’t help.
Next I removed default theme and the bootsplash utility and install once again.

Still didn’t help, still education theme during start-up. The Education theme looks like cached or built-in to a kernel …?

Look at this side:
Kernel Boot Splash How-To - Knoppix.net
and search for a string “Download the correct patch for your Kernel” that will jump to what is relevant for us.

Anyway thanks so far, since I didn’t know how to start. Now I know that the problem is called bootsplash :).
Hope somebody can help to rebuild/refresh it.
Cheers.

SOLVED.

After clean-up of the bootsplash themes it is necessary to refresh the “kernel” since it is embedded in it.

Simple:

sudo mkinitrd

will do

after that bootsplash theme is properly displayed.

Reinstall of the bootsplash has nothing to do with it.
Cheers.

BTW: I’m so happy. Finally I’m solving issues or even able to help others. Not only asking.
