Hallo!I recently installed openSUSE 11.1 and configured it to use a Huawei E220 dial-up modem.
My dial-up is somewhat unstable and sometimes my network connection is lost.When this happens the,knetworkmanager becomes de-activated from the panel.When I try to restart it as soon as I know my network connection is back-up,the knetworkmanager refuses to start thus I am forced to restart my computer to reconnect.
Also,whenever I disconnect my modem from the USB port,the knetworkmanager becomes de-activated from the panel.When I plug in the modem back to my computer,knetworkmanager is still dactivated and I cannot start it forcing me to boot my machine to re-instate the connection.
How do I solve this problem?I have set my knetworkmanager to auto-connect.
Hallo!I unplugged my wireless modem from the USB port and the knetworkmanager icon in the panel.I re-plugged my modem and using the command as below
linux-luhe:/home/JOEY # su -c “/sbin/rcnetwork restart”;
The following was the output
Shutting down the NetworkManager done
Shutting down network interfaces:
eth0 name: BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX done
pan0
No configuration found for pan0
Nevertheless the interface will be shut down. done
wlan0 name: BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN done
Shutting down service network . . . . . . . . . done
Starting the NetworkManager done
Unfortunately,the knetworkmanager was not re-activated and I still cannot connect to the internet.How do I solve this problem?
