Hello all,
My integrated MB sound card worked perfectly until I installed (and later uninstalled) a DLNA media player. Even though I reversed all the software installations, sound card settings were apparently changed, and I can’t seem to “get back to the place I was before”.
I found the following sound test online and it functions properly over HDMI speakers:
>speaker-test -c2 -l5 -twav -D hdmi:CARD=HDMI,DEV=0
So how do I restore my sound card settings to default and restore sound through HDMI and speaker out jack?

If you have the ‘pipewire-pulseaudio’ package installed (for pulseaudio support under pipewire), then you can also use ‘pavucontrol’ (graphical pulseaudio volume control) that can be used to set the desired profile via the ‘Configuration’ tab.
Had to install a handful of packages to get this. I’d appreciate interpretation of the results.

Got it!
Using pavucontrol I saw sound activity on the 1) Digital Output S/PDIF channel but nothing on the 2) HDMI/Display Port channel. Using the drop-down for channel #2 I selected HDMI and I now have sound!
Thanks for your response and bread-crumb trail to the solution! I’ll add this solution to my Linux library.
Glad to have been of guidance!
