Python2 on Leap 16.0?

I have a set of linked python scripts that have been in use for years … all written originally (not by me!) in python 2. They worked fine in Leap 15.6, and oddly enough worked fine in Leap 16.0 for a few days, but now are generating syntax errors. There are lots of different questions here but at a minimum I’d like to find a way to install python2 on Leap 16 so that I can run these old scripts while I move them to python3.
