How to read StarOffice writer files in LibreOffice 3.6.x ?

Hi everybody,

someone can tell me how to read StarOffice Writer files in LibreOffice 3.6.x (sdw)?

Before, we had libreoffice-filter-binfilter, but now, it isn’t available. :frowning: I see a libreoffice-filters-optional package in the OBS for LibreOffice 3.6.x but the description don’t say anything on sdw file support.

You scare me, so I tried to open old sxw files, and they open without
problems (some are from 2001, others from 2005). But my version is
“LibreOffice 3.5:build-413”.

There has been a huge amount of tidying up in the LibreOffice code base including the dropping of export filters for StarOffice formats; so don’t be surprised if the packages have changed but, as Carlos points out, the import filters are still there and AFAIK none have been removed.
