Hi,
I’m trying to configure my fonts and I added this repo:
Index of /repositories/home:/muzlocker/openSUSE_12.1
I selected these packages:
fontconfig, fontconfig-32bit, libcairo-gobject2, libcairo2, libcairo2-32bit, libfreetype6, libfreetype6-32bit, libpixman-1-0, libpixman-1-0-32bit
I’ve seen on the internet other tutorials that also created a .Xdefaults text file in the home folder with this :
Xft.autohint: 0
Xft.lcdfilter: lcddefault
Xft.hintstyle: hintslighteneabled,
Xft.hinting: 1
Xft.antialias: 1
Xft.dpi: 96
Xft.rgba: rgb
I did not do this because the tutorial was for OpenSUSE 11.4; should I create this .Xdefaults file?
Other than the adding the repo, selecting the packages, and changing the font settings in KDE to anti-aliasing enabled, hinting; slight, DPI 96 I did not do anything else besides restart OpenSUSE 12.1. Do I need to do anything else to get better system fonts across all applications/ the entire operating system?
Aside the Muzlocker repo, I saw there is a website for Linux fonts : infinality.net There is no repo for this, but I downloaded the file and there are 3 patches and 2 system settings xxx.sh programs. I did not try to apply the patches because I already setup the Muzlocker repo but am curious how the patches compare to Muzlockers and how easy is it to set up the patches on the system.
