I think you are using the wromng terms and this may lead into getting the wrong anser.
A daemon is (normaly) running as long as the system is up (from boot until shutdown) and has thus nothing to do with any login.
Now what do you mean:
a) the music must start at boot (thus as real daemon)
b) the music must start for every user that happens to log in (and what must then happen when the second user logs in or the same user for a second time)?
c) the music must start when user x logs in?
For the time being I assume that you mean c). In that case you must look at the possibilities to start things at login that are available for the particular Desktop Environment that user is using. As you fail to explain which desktop (KDE, Gnome, …) that is I can not give an exact answer.

i don’t know which desktop environment you’re using, but usually there is
a system sound after a usr logs in. in KDE4 you can choose that sound
under:
System Settings (open from the start menu, or by typing “systemsettings”
into a (user) terminal)
-> Application and System Notifications (first row of icons)
-> KDE Workspace (from the dropdown on the right)
-> Login
i’m sure GNOME has similar settings, but i don’t know where they are.

Didn’t you see that two people here asked you which desktop that user uses? A user loging in in the GUI is all about his/her desktop. Your question can not be answered without knowing what desktop.

one could say:
change the start-up sound of your desktop environment; or, if it doesn’t
have one, assign one. KDE & GNOME have that facility, and in awesome it
can easily be scripted. don’t know about others, but there’s usually a way.
