how to mirror the home-directory from one notebook to another?

g day dear Linux-experts

i ve got two Notebooks (see the Sig.) both are running OpenSuse 12.1. On one Notebook i have a bunch of additional Software and programmes. Such as

TBird with Enigmail
FileZilla with SSH
a LAMPP

Question: how to start the mirroring, how to proceed with this idea to get the important things from one machine to the second?

here the Notebooks:
Akoya - P 6512 15" OpenSuse 12.1: AMD Athlon X2 P320, 2,10 GHz, 4 GB
Samsunng q 210, 12,1" OpenSuse 12.1: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Proz. P8400 2,26 GHz 1066 MHz; FSB 3 MB

Look forward to hear from you. If you have any questions regarding my plans - do not hesitate to ask.

greetings

Important point: will the laptops stay in place, or will one remain unused if the other one is outside the network? If so, you could use NFS to export /home from one laptop to the other.

hello you both - hello Robin hello Knurpht

many thanks - i try to follow all your advices
