How to make applications autostart at runlevel 3 without interfering with normal start-up

I have a problem with making dropbox autostart at init runlevel 3. I have now finally found out that dropbox can be installed with zypper and “dropbox start” starts the dropbox daemon. Before I just installed the user package directly from the dropbox website. The daemon does autostart at runlevel 5 but not at runlevel 3.

I tried to add an dropbox start line in .bashrc but that resulted in a black screen during normal boot into KDE. So is there another way?

No, that would not work.

Yes, modify the service definition so that it also starts at level 3. I
don’t have dropbox, so I can’t be very precise.
