How to lock in the kernel-longterm

Over the weekend, I will repurpose a 3 years old laptop (with nvidia 2060 mobile) to use tw.

  1. I will just install kernel-lts and not even install kernel-default (yast + never install default).
  2. I’d like to make sure that the nvidia driver (g06) matches the kernel-lts.

How do I make sure that the nvidia driver matches the kernel everytime i do a zypper dup?

Thanks

If you are using kernel-longterm you have to install e.g. nvidia-driver-G06-kmp-longterm and not nvidia-driver-G06-kmp-default: that way the right kernel modules are built against the last installed kernel-devel-longtermand rebuilt if needed after a zypper dup.
If Nvidia drivers and kernel go out of sync that should be treated as a bug to be reported and corrected.

Thanks.

I will setup the laptop for my wife and that way she will be doing her own updates.
