The “new posts” function (“What’s New”) is difficult to use, because it searches in all the forums by default (including all the others languages forums).
However, there is one trick for, respectively,

I think you are trying to see too much into this when in fact it is very simple. Note what is highlighted in red.
The ‘results’ you get is the trick.
Just click on the bookmark. You can add the bookmark to your browser if you wish.
If you are curious as to the actual address, then for showing all new posts appearing in the English forums only:
http://forums.opensuse.org/search.php?do=getnew&f=842
and to show all posts from the last 24 hours in the English forums only
http://forums.opensuse.org/search.php?do=getdaily&f=842
