How to keep packages like java-openjdk updated

I’ve now had two openjdk updates break my server installation of slowroll.

When java-23-openjdk-headless was removed from the repositories in favor of java-24-openjdk-headless, my server didn’t upgrade to 24, it just deleted 23. Just tonight did the same when upgrading from 24 to 25.

So because java-25-openjdk-headless is available, it removed java-24-openjdk-headlessbut did not install java-25-openjdk-headless leading causing some crashes with the jdk being missing.

I thought maybe installing via a capability would somehow make it work. But if on Slowroll I attempt to install java-openjdk-headless or a similar capability, then it installs java-11-openj9-headless.

This particular server uses slowroll, though this problem applies just as well to tumbleweed.

I was hoping the tumbleweed tag would make the post more visible.
