How to install theme

Hello all,

I have a fresh install of OpenSuse Leap 15.1. I would like to change the themes but so far i couldn’t find the way. As the documentation do not look up to date. I downloaded some theme here
Then it seem impossible to switch to the new theme. I thought it would be put automatically here.
But as you can see, it’s not there.
Anybody had similar issue? How did you manage to change the themes?
PS: also if a contributor is passing by, I notice something interesting, when i do the snapshot, the colors of the buttons are orange but in reality they are blue :sarcastic:
Thanks

Hi,
Those themes are in the openSUSE repositories and installable via yast2.
You can search the names of your preferred themes in yast2 software management or just search icon or themes and you’lle find it.

At the risk of insulting you, I apologize if you know this, but I didn’t hear you mention it.

Tweaks tool is where themes get changed.

I just search for “metatheme” in the software repository. A bunch of theme choices come up to choose from.

Good luck. Sorry if this is something you already know and I just missed the point.

Hi and welcome to the Forum
Looks like your using GNOME… so you need to visit https://extensions.gnome.org and the add the plugin etc and add the User Themes - GNOME Shell Extensions

Then if you create a directory in you home directory called .themes (note it’s a hidden one with the period at the beginning). I also use ~/.icons and ~/.fonts to complement themes.

You will also need to logout/login before the extension starts working.

I can’t see where the @OP described the Desktop he’s running…
If he really is running Gnome, Malcolm posted relevant info.

If the @OP is running running some other Desktop, he’ll have to say what it is before anyone can post something helpful…

IMO,
TSU

Hi
The image the OP posted is the Gnome Tweak Tool…
