they don’t seem to have an RPM package , only a .tar.bz2 , is this ok ?

Yes, it works, just extract into your home directory and run the
sublime_text command.

can’t i dock it in with other gnome apps !!! , like a fully installed software ?
I am not running Gnome. But I think you can place a .desktop file in /usr/share/applicatons, and/or ~/.local/usr/share/applications.
And there was a program for this kind of usage. I think it was called Alacarte.
