how to install nvidia driver without any problems

  1. When i used OpenSUSE 13.1 i had a problem with the Nvidia driver:
My graphic card is: GTX 760 by MSI. and I used KDE.

So when I installed Opensuse, anything works good but I could not render with my graphic interface in Blender. So I looked at Opensuse Wiki and and I saw I had to install Nvidia driver (I realized that drivers do not come with the operating system…)
So I chose “The easy way” and after I followed the guideline and installed the driver, the next thing happened…
The lower half of my screen was move in delay, the fade animation was bit broken and in CLI mode the resolution fell down too low (the text was too big) and I got some more graphic problems…
But I could render with my graphic card in blender

---------^^All this was when I used 13.1 version^^.-------

Now. I come to Leap 42.1 version and I don’t want all this problems again.
So I still don’t install the driver and My question is how to install the graphic driver without all this problems
(BTW I get a bit different problems with some other DE\WM and with many other Linux distribution)

And I think this Thread have to in another forum… sorry about this… if someone can, please move this to the appropriate forum.

Well unclear exactyl what the problem seem like maybe you need to set the resolution. But there is nothing you can do to Install the drivers different that would make difference on the resolutions these need to be set after the install

You can run the nvidia-setting program and perhaps resolve you problems also there are setting in KDE desktop settings that may help

.

I successfully installed the propriatary NVIDIA drivers for my GTX 960 card using the “Geforce 400 series and later” link here:

http://opensuse-community.org/

I did have a problem during a recent automatic update that caused my card performance to be terrible. I fixed it by selecting the NVIDIA driver in YaST and forcing an update.
