How to install MATE 1.8 with OpenSUSE 13.1

I did a lot of searching and reading and came up with these steps to install OpenSUSE 13.1 with the MATE Desktop.
I’ve been trying out MATE w/MINTMENU (unfortunately not available in openSUSE) for a while and it works in our
environment really well. I am eager to see where it goes in OpenSUSE.

    new: DISPLAYMANAGER=“lightdm”

    nano windowmanager

    new: DEFAULT_WM=“mate”

MATE will appear in a dropdown box in the lightdm display manager at logon time.

Any corrections or alternative installation methods for MATE Desktop on openSUSE 13.1…

Looking forward to openSUSE and MATE in the future! :good:
