How to install LPB 2900 printer in SuSE 11.2

[LEFT]I am just novic to SuSE linux. I am trying to install a LPB 2900 printer to my system. I use SuSE 11.2. I’ve downloaded driver pack (Driver.tar.gz) from driver collectoin.com. The problem is that I can’t unpack this driver pack.
And I don’t really know how to install this driver.
I’ve tried from printer configuration from yast2.
The problem is that LPB 2900 driver is not known by the package browser(add driver).

Plz help me.

To unzip the driver, in terminal window cd to the directory that you downloaded the pack to and use tar -zxvf NameOfFile.tar.gz (oUfxBb.tar.gz). Once the files are unzipped, there is a file named guide-capt-e-1.1x.tar.gz, unzip this and the instructions to install are in main_02_01.html.

Thanks for your advice:)

and the hardware guide

Canon LBB5100 Capt Driver x86_64 - openSUSE Forums

talked about installing a canon lbp driver on a 64 bit system

I used the canon rpm drivers for a 32 bit Suse 11.0 and it went smoothly and well;

(following canon’s instructions)

so how is it all coming along out there, operamm?

In this method does not work.So that please give me other way to install this printer driver,

Are you using cups? If so, checkout localhost:631

And see if you can add your printer that way.
