Firstly newbie.
I have been having wireless problems from the onset (Broadcom 4312 on HP DV7t). None of the options tried have worked and I’m going round in circles. One suggestion was to load the xxxx.32 kernel which will (I hope) fix the issues.
I have no internet access on suse so downloaded the (from windows) file:
kernel-desktop-2.6.32-rc6.19.1.x86_64.rpm
and am assuming this is correct. I have used YaST to make it I think a plain cache source.
Now where from here??
I’ve fiddled around with YaST, but cannot see where to install this new kernel (if that’s what I’m supposed to do). It is all very confusing and, yes, I’ve looked in the forums, documentation, etc etc
So, I have the kernel RPM that YaST can see, but I cannot figure out how to get it to simply install…
Apologies if this is SUSE 101. Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
