Need to install Alladin etoken driver (was supported in 11.04 ) but its not working, its dependent on HAL and newer version of linux replaced HAL with upower.
I am forced to use windows to use the etoken (digital signature)

You have it in the kde3 repo.

Meaning that HAL has been deprecated, so if you want this old thing you
need to install old libraries, like it or not. It is possible that you do
not need to use kde3, just install hal and dependencies.
Whether your hardware will work with that, I have no idea. The real
question is why the driver has not been updated to use whatever is the new
thing (udev?)

Why? You can install kde3 in part or in full in 12.1, besides kde4.
