How to install .deb

Hi,

I need to use a software for smart card and signature. This software is only .deb package, and I didn’t find the source code.

The software is SafeSign Identify Client, and without it I can’t use my certificate. I use debian distributions and works fine, but I’d rather to use openSUSE.

There is a library called libaetpkcs11 that necessary for all works, and this one is instaled with the SafeSign Indentify Client.

Is there any way for this software works in openSUSE?

Thanks for everyone.

Ask the company to get the source code.

I tried, they never answer.

You can try alien, but I do not know, if it is working properly:
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/utilities/openSUSE_Factory/x86_64/alien-8.88-3.37.x86_64.rpm

I tried too, they answer:

From Version 3.5.2.0
• Support for Windows 10, version 1809, OS Build 17763.437 and higher.
**• Support for Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS (64 bit)
**• Support for Mac OSX 10.14 only.

I asked about the source code, but I’m waiting for the answer.

About alien, it doesn’t work, sadly.

Hi
Do you have a download link? If you open the deb file with an archive tool and extract the data.tar.gz file, then extract that in a temporary directory, you can either manually copy the files to the relevant locations in the filesystem. Or (my preferred method), just run from the extracted location with using export LD_LIBRARY_PATH to any built in libraries and run the binary…

Hi,

Yes, I have the file *.deb, and I tried again using Alien, but it isn’t work due to some dependencies, I tried install this one, but there is an incompatibility between versions.

Anyway, the support of software returned this message:

From Version 3.6.0.0
• Support for Windows 2019 (64 bit)
• Support for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (64 bit)
• Support for Centos 8 (64 bit)

The last one for Centos is a .rpm file.

We suggest to contact Certisign support to request the rpm file.

There is a new version, that includes RPM files, however they are a bit resistance to send me, I don’t know why. I sent an e-mail requesting the new version RPM, I’m waiting the answer.

Do these links help?

Download page, including a link to an RPM.
Supposedly are latest.

Hi,

I tried it, but my certificate is a card, not a token, and in this case the software is SafeSign, not SafeNet, it’s different.

PS: Yes, posted in Portuguese, by the way, I’m Brazilian.
