How to hook a logitech keyboard up to a unifying receiver?

I just bought the Logitech Performance MX mouse that comes with a Unifying Receiver. I have an old Logitech Y-RBN90 keyboard that I want to pair with it but it’s not seeing that keyboard. How can I pair it?

I have a logitech unifying mouse, which I like. So I looked into what you are trying (academic interest only, since I don’t have a keyboard).

I got the impression that the pairing magic is all handled by the Windows driver, in which case it might not be possible for linux.

Not true, the drivers are in linux, and AFAIK a udev rule would be needed. I’m using a Logitech M325 unifying mouse. Install solaar from my home testing repo to take car of it all for you;

Thanks. Will this work even with my keyboard (which is a bit older)? How can I know if it’s compatible?

Also, does solaar work on opensuse 12.1?

Does the older kernel have the logitech modules? What is the output
from lsusb for your receiver when plugged in?

OK, so the receiver is there, if you run;


lsmod |grep logitech

You should see;


hid_logitech_dj        18605  0

If not un plug/replug the device.

So what is the other Logitech device, a usb keyboard plugged in?

Solaar should do, you would need to grab the src rpm and build locally,
no 12.1 repos to build against…
