how to have colored icons in the system tray

the reference I followed is How to Use Custom Tray Icons in KDE

I never used inkscape but I need it to modify icons, sorry for the poor description on how to use incascape.

you can copy the standard white icons from:
/usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons

and modify them, or other icons from:
Oxygen Plasma (>= 4.5) System Tray Icons KDE-Look.org

I’m writing this becouse I found difficulties modifying icons and didn’t succeed the first time, the difficulty was related to the fact that I modifyed icons clicking on them and change colors and it didn’t works

copy the files you want to modify from
/usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons
in /home/<yourusername>/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons/
open the *.svgz file you want to modify with inkscape
in inkscape double click on the icon you want to modify
now you are able to click on each piece that compose the icon to select it
click on one of it (or click shift for more), and modify colors as you like.

go to /home/<yourusername>/.kde/cache-[ComputerName]
Then, remove the file “icon-cache.kcache” and also “plasma_theme_[theme-name].kcache”.
press ctrl>alt>backspace to restart kde4and youll’ have your colored icons

here is my second try:-)
