How to go Root [PS3]???

I have just installed OpenSuse 11 on my PS3 and I have some problems!

  1. How do I get into root so that I can change the screen size?

  2. It’s not possible to go onto the Internet >:(, any ideas???

Since there’s no direct access to graphics hardware on the ps3, traditional methods of changing resolutions do not apply.

Resolution is applied before bootup into the OS.

You need to reboot and set the graphics options from petitboot (the graphical bootloader). Look at the bottom to see the options, don’t remember off the top of my head.

Once you find the right setting you can investigate updating the bootloader configuration file to boot the kernel with that setting every time.

You should be able to CTRL-ALT-F1 to get to a console if you’re stuck in X.
