on my laptop running 16.0 I’m starting to use GNOME (not GNOME wailand not GNOME X11 only GNOME, I don’t know the differences and will investigate) becouse KDE plasma X11 and wayland have a lot of screen glitch (also her I will investigate) I use dolphin (becouse the filter bar i cannot live without) how I can get to open files with a single click??
You use the same way you set it in KDE, through Systemsettings
Open Files (aka Nautilus), Preferences > General > Action to Open Items > Single Click
You find the Preferences in the “hamburger” button in the left Tab.
Just a question, Bruno. He’s talking about Dolphin, so a KDE app in GNOME, will that obey Nautilus settings? I would be surprised
in the KDE systemsettings is already set to open with single click (I suppose becouse is the same user) but in GNOME doesn’t works
I did but it doesn’t works in dolphin, works only in nautilus (why the hell gnome staff decided to call “nautilus” “file”

IMNSHO you should step away from your approaches. Plasma Wayland should not have glitches ( whatever that means ). If it does, look into video driver etc. And Dolphin is a KDE app, using it in GNOME puts you on your own, since no one will do that.

For me, it would appear very poor to be limited to do so. (Maybe it’s not officially recommended — but is not forbidden either.)
And what about 3rd party applications (I mean those not by KDE or GNOME projects “directly” — where there are often alternatives either way…) with EITHER Qt OR GTK kit only? Just don’t use it, then?
On which DE would you use (or not use) LibreOffice, Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird, VLC?
I will investigate why plasma has that glitches, using GNOME is one of this step becouse if glitches doesn’t appear in GNOME the problem is in KDE plasma, now I haven’t time to investigate so I started to use GNOME (that is one of the good things in linux, use more than one desktop environment) to pass to GNOME is already a big leap, I cannot add another leap starting to use another file manager wthout filter bar
I did not say that. The vast majority of linux users will use Files ( that’s what it’s called ) on GNOME, Dolphin on Plasma, PCManFM on LXQT, and so on. Just don’t expect that a DE can be supporting whatever app to integrate completely. The app is not built to be running on and integrating with the DE either.
Not per se. Very often ( and I’ve seen your numerous threads in here ) these issues are self-inflicted.
If you look at Plasma then the “Klick”-behavior seems to be defined on desktop-level (and not by an individual application).
I’m not familiar with GNOME but probably it behaves like Plasma and you have to define the “Klick”-behavior on desktop-level as well.
So, how do you actually handle this? I really don’t want to bother you, I am just interested in how consistent you are on this. Are you very “strict”?
may be the glitces (suddenly appears triangles of various colors) are self inflicted but in this case I think not, they appeared suddenly without any changes and I will also test on a new user but now I have not time

This thread reminds me about my Bugzilla: KFind (KDE App) without "Minimize" (i.e. not available in GUI menu nor taskbar
(When I upgraded from Leap 15.6 to 16.0 I did a clean and fresh install. I now have Xfce (as before) on Wayland (instead of X) but with GNOME and KDE frameworks installed more tidy (before on 15.x, I tried to remove as much as possible :-/ ). I looks better now, i.e. just fine.)
Sorry for not noticing that the question was about Dolphin on Gnome, maybe because that is an unusual situation to say the least, since major file managers are developed as part of a DE and deeply integrated with their parent DE.
In Gnome the click policy is defined in org.gnome.nautilus.preferences.click-policy and can be changed also with dconf. As you see, it is Gnome specific and even nautilus (aka “Files”) specific, so no wonder Dolphin doesn’t respect that setting.
There is no “system wide” click policy in Gnome I know of and I am too a casual user of KDE to find where the low level setting for Dolphin is.
BTW, apps not specifically developed by the DE team are different, for instance LibreOffice on Gnome installs

FWIW, GNOME only supports running on Wayland, so that’s why it doesn’t say X11 or Wayland. There’s only one option, unlike KDE Plasma’s current state (but that is moving to Wayland-only in the near future IIRC).
Leap 16.0 is on Gnome 48 and that still provides a gnome-session-xsession.
What is actually in use can be seen by:
system Settings > System > About > System Details > Windowing System
