For your wireless, go to the wireless subforum, read the stickies at
the beginning, do what they ask, and then reopen your thread there.

As for Windows programs, they will not run without special efforts.
The standard openSUSE installation includes OpenOffice, which can
read/write any of the Microsoft Office file formats. Only Access is
not implemented, but that probably does not affect you.

As for Microsoft Live Messenger, it was really good to get rid of that
security black hole!

good luck …

Hi,

Open office has fairly good compatability with micosoft office; however
there are methods to get microsoft office to work in Linux, if you
really need it, such as Crossover office or running Windows in Virtual
box.

You can use Kopete in KDE or Pidgin in GNOME to log in to your live
messenger account and IM your friends.

For wireless do “sudo dmesg | grep firmware” should give u read out which may say u need to get firmware will give u an address to go to get updated firmware for your wireless, it should have suse pkg to install do that then it will tell u installed then do reboot should work. Had to do that to my Dell laptop with b43. Hope this helps also look at forum wireless detailed info there for getting it to work it helped me.
