How to get my desktop folder out of the task bar in 11.3?

The task bar manager swallowed my desktop folder when I was moving it around. Now, I have a little folder icon that pops up a menu when I click it. How do I put my desktop folder back on the desktop w/o endangering my task manager? Thanks in advance.
:shame:

Unlock widgets
Click the cashew icon in the right corner of the panel
delete the folder in the panel

Now right click desktop > add widget > folder view
Then configure it to the view you want
Then lock widgets

you should be able to drag it back to the desktop, the same way you got
it into the panel. (you have to unlock your widgets, obviously, and to
click on the diamond-thing at the right corner of your panel to be able to
move around the widgets.)

if that doesn’t work, again, unlock your widgets if they are locked, then
right-click on the desktop-icon in your panel and choose to “remove” it.
next right-click on the desktop, “add widgets”, then choose “folder view.”
either double-click on that, or drag it to the desktop.

if it doesn’t point to your desktop folder by default, open it’s settings
and tell it to show the desktop folder.

phani.

Thanks, I was afraid to obliterate my task manager again, but your instructions work.

Excellent. Well done
