Hello there !
Just installed WMII and Awesome with YAST,on my search for a Tiling-WM.They both were listed in the
WM/DE-Menu on user-change,but I got neigher WMII,nor Awesome working.
Do I have to change some configs,or whatever,to get a new WM/DE working ?

I think you can select the DE at the login screen. Exit your X session, and (in KDE) at the login screen select a new DE in the bottom-left pull-up menu.
You also may have to change the WM. In kde this is done in system-settings, don’t recall the exact location right now.
Note: I can’t find the WM selector in system settings. In KDE 3.5 this was in the session management section. I don’t know if this is because I’ve only kwin installed, if it’s not necessary anymore (some kind of auto-selection) or if you have a setting somewhere else, but I think I read something about this here. Try searching the fora.
Hi brunomcl !
Yes,I had both displayed in the menu on the login-screen,and they started up,but I can’t do anything
inside WMII or Awesome!
On building and installing the Xmonad tiling-WM,as a side-effect,I got the needed destination for
putting a new DE/WM into the loginscreen-menu.In usr/share/xsessions,there has to be a .desktop-file
for every DE/WM.
But there seems to be annother issue with the WMII and the Awesome.
Thanks for your attention !

OK lostinspace. Just for the record, the WM selection is in system settings>standard apps> window manager. Duh…
Hi brunomcl !
Brave job!Never recognized that setting. But if the behaviour is the same,as f.e. at the login-
screen selection, there will be at least one config additional for that!
