How to force right screen-resolution?

Hi!
I’ve installed OS11.1 with KDE4.1 on my laptop.
The laptop have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB.
OS detect it as Board: RV350 NP and choose driver “radeon”.
This crash the computer and i have to boot it up in “init 3” and run
command; sax2 -r -m 0=vesa
This work, but the only resolution is 1024x768
My screen is 1280x800 60Hz.

How can i force the Vesa-drive to run at 1280x800?

I suppose your best option would be to install the proprietary drivers.
There is a 1-click install option in opensuse. See ‘ATI - openSUSE’
(http://en.opensuse.org/ATI) For the moment this seems to be only for
11.0, so you may have to download and install the binaries.
