how to find the IP address ?

Hello.
I have router and dsl internet connection . i can browse the net and all, but when i ping my computer , i alway get 127.0.0.2loopback ip address. not the one assigned by router…

ANY idea

i was using wrong shell for ifconfig …
but what odd is , my ip is 192.168.0.100 … but looking at the router … is 192.168.2.11 …

is just odd …

That’s only odd if your network is defined as being 192.168.0.x. It’s
entirely possible the entire 192.168.x.x set of addresses are available
within the same network range. To know for sure post the entire
‘ifconfig’ output, or the output from ‘ip addr sh’ and ‘ip route sh’

i have a alcatel speedtouch home the ip for the modemrouter = 10.0.0.138 not i have given my network card a Fixed IP :smiley: in the range of the modem = 10.0.0.1
