Since the last to last update of Tumbleweed, I see that the autoupdate module (which gives notifications about the new updates to Tumbleweed) is not working and so I don’t receive any notification to update the packages and have to update them manually from Software Update or zypper command…
Checked the /etc/xdg/autostart folder and didn’t find any apper entry there… how to enable it again and which entry should be there in “/etc/xdg/autostart” which is responsible for that?
Apper is a KDE4 application. The program itself does work in Plasma5, but not the KDED plugin and the plasmoid that notify you of updates.
It just has not been ported to KF5 yet.
You can still use Apper, but you have to start it manually and check for updates.
There’s muon (used by Kubuntu since years), but when I last tried that it didn’t work at all.
Or use zypper to update your system. You can setup a cron job that installs updates automatically in YaST->Online Update Configuration.
