Hello everyone 
I installed opensuse 11.1 with kde4 desktop
I can extract tar.gz & … types
but i cant create tar.gz or gz or tar.bz2 & … archives with ark…
i only can create zip & rar archives
I reinstalled opensuse for many times but it my problem didnt solved :’(
please guide me how to repair my ark…

When you specify the file to which you want to archive files, add the extension .tar.gz
When you create a new archive, select the option “Tar archive (gzip-compressed)”.
By the by, do not re-install just for solving such silly problems. You never need to re-install. This is not Windo$ 
You can just right click compress as…whatever
Just install kde4-extractandcompress from Packman
What shall reinstalling help? ark of KDE 4.1 didn’t support it.
