how to configure wireless internet

That’s not the wireless you’re posting, it’s a Gigabit wired network card.

Please post output of


lspci   (without the -n, that option shows only the numeric values )

lspci -n (which means that vendors are suppressed, just numbers shown) is not very helpful. Instead I would like to see the output of

/sbin/lspci -v

where you can cut away the non relevant parts. “Relevant” is any output about a wireless controller you may have. The 88E8040 is an ethernet controller, for cable, not wireless. It works with the sky2 driver (as far as I can remember).

It should work without too many problems.*
