How would I go about changing the default net-snmp port to another port number?

if openSUSE it is past its end of life and you should do one of these
things:

upgrade to 11.4 or 12.1

Look at the man page for snmpd under the section “LISTENING ADDRESSES”
for the format to use and file to add it to, you might also want to look
in /etc/services to check the port your going to use is listed, else
add it. Don’t forget to open the firewall port if it’s running.
