How to change font in console

Hello,

I have a problem with czech special chars in console (I can see only squares instead of the chars which are placed on 12345… keys). When I change the font manually:

setfont /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/lat2a-16.psfu.gz

it works.

Where could I change the console font permanently?

I have tried it in

/etc/sysconfig/console

but it ignores the settings.

If you login with your username and password when using the console, you could put the setfont statement in your .bashrc

Great :). Do you know how to enable Altgr in console or how to use czech keyboard layout in gnome and us in console?

Ad 1: found this

You could also put XKBOPTIONS=compose:ralt in /etc/default/keyboard and run

Ad 2: Use Yast to set the global keyboard setting to English (US), use the GNOME control center to set the keyboard layout used in the deskop environment
