I come here with a question I couldn’t find any other place for, regarding the openSUSE Bugzilla system https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/index.cgi as it is today.
I have an account over there, which has my customary nickname (used to login) as well as an e-mail address associated with it. Since that e-mail address will vanish sometime soon, I would like to change it. I would really like to keep my nickname as is, i.e. keep my current account on Bugzilla.
For the life of me, I cannot find any way to change the e-mail address associated with my openSUSE Bugzilla account. Please, anybody able to help? I cannot find any way to contact support or admin on the Bugzilla site, and I cannot find advice in their help topics. I did find some related posts here on the forum, but they are old and don’t apply anymore.
Of course, of all else fails, I could delete my current Bugzilla account and open a new one. But I am afraid I would lose my nickname then, which I would hate as well as creating a new nickname2 …
I assume, because we have a central login facility at openSUSE/SUSE, that not only your username/password are the same here and on Bugzilla, but also your e-mail address. So following the procedure to change your e-mail address here should then result in you getting all openSUSE mails on your new address.
Your are correct, I have the same Username (“nickname”) and Password on openSUSE Forum and Bugzilla. My account settings on the Forum have my new e-mail address, which I could change some time ago in self-service. However, Bugzilla still shows my old e-mail address on its start page after logging in - you know, in that drop-down box in the second line that has “My Requests”, “Preferences”, “Log out” as its choices. I couldn’t check yet where e-mail from Bugzilla to me would go after I changed my mail address on the Forum.
What I am asking more precisely is: How can I get my new e-mail address shown and used by Bugzilla, instead of the old one?
Is there any way for you to send e-mails to me from the Forum and from Bugzilla?
Plan B would be to delete my account on Bugzilla and create a new one. I wouldn’t care for the bugs filed in the past. However, I would really care (1) if that deletion would also delete my Forum account as they are the same, and (b) if I would have to create a new Username for all of openSUSE.
Hi
If the email change has not synced across platforms, then you need to send an email to admin{at}opensuse{dot}org as they control this part (community login).
I have the same issue for months now, I’ve made the mistake of creating my bugzilla account before changing my email address on openSUSE IDP and since then I’m blocked.
I’ve tried to do that on March 10, they were quick to respond but unfortunately it seems that they are not in charge of bugzilla and cannot do anything, they redirected me to the contact email shown in the front page of bugzilla.
Category set to Bugzilla
Status changed from New to Rejected
Hi,
thanks for getting back, but I’m sorry - we don’t maintain Bugzilla. Unfortunately you have to contact the email address mentioned on the front page of the Bugzilla website.
And … that’s what I’ve already did on December 5, sent a email to bugzilla-admins{at}suse{dot}com but never got any response and my bugzilla account still use the wrong email address …
