You should be able to configure DNS settings in your router.
Typically it will be on some kind of auto setting, which may depend on your ISP and if you have static or dynamic IP

you need to edit your /etc/resolve.conf to point to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
instead of whatever they are looking at now
i can’t give you a step-by-step because the steps are different
depending on if you use kde or gnome or xfce or lxde or some other
desktop environment…or no desktop environment…
for KDE press and hold Alt and then press F2, in the resulting popup
near the top type in and enter “kdesu kwrite” (without the “”) and then
give root password when asked… a root powered kwrite will popup, so
you navigate to /etc/resolve.conf open it and you will see a huge scary
warning…below that you might see something like
search somewhere.com site
nameserver 192.164.1.1
nameserver 208.67.282.222
nameserver 208.67.220.210
suggest you edit to something like
search somewhere.com site
#nameserver 192.164.1.1
#nameserver 208.67.282.222
#nameserver 208.67.220.210
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
for gnome/xfce/lxde and other the way to open a root powered file editor
changes…in gnome it is “gnomesu kwrite” but i have no idea abou the
other desktops…and, for a text only use mc or vim…
after making the edit the system will complain (during boot up) that
resolve.conf has been manually changed…but, it will not stop or cause
problems…

With my ISP’s DNS,if I type a wrong domain name such as www.bfegfdsfsfl.com,it will redirect me to ISP’s home page ,full of ADs.I don’t like that.
Problem has benn solved by what DenverD(4#) post.
