How to change date format in Yast? - 11.2

I installed the UK version of Suse 11.2, but Yast shows the date in the American format (mm/dd/yyyy) and therefore my other programs, like kmymoney also show that format. Is there any way I can change it?

I have checked under system settings and it shows the European format there.

Many thanks.

System settings - Date and Time
Select UK/GB
Apply

It is set to UK/GB in system settings, but Yast -> System -> Date and Time still shows the American format.

Yes.I can only change the actual date and time, but not the format.

Is yours showing different than mine

No, it shows exactly what’s showing on yours. But because it’s the wrong way around (sorry, not American after all), it shows it the wrong way on other apps.

But don’t these apps have settings for this?

In kmymoney there is no date setting. I’ve read, that you have to change the date format on the system. Well, maybe it’s a glitch in kmymoney, that hopefully will be fixed soon.

For KDE:
“Configure Desktop”->(Personal) “Regional & Language”

There’s a setting for time and dates that allows you to change their displayed formats.

For other desktops, there are probably equivalent settings, but I don’t know them.

Well spotted. I have UK set in there too. It’s a bit crazy the way kde has settings all over the place.

All set correctly in system settings. I thank you for your help, but I suppose I just have to deal with it. Thanks again.

it sounds like something has gone wrong

try changing the settings to German and then change it back to uk
