Tks for your help and sorry for my bad english.

I would like to define Windows 1 as a Default boot.

Here is all you need to do to make the requested change. Only the line that says default was changed from 4 to 2. All default options start from 0, which would be the first entry.

Also, I notice you have two Windows entries. Most PC’s do not have two versions of Windows loaded to boot from. Further, there is no need to keep the title of your Windows copy as Windows 1. You did not indicate the Version of Windows you have installed, but let us assume it is Windows 7. Look at the change and I think you will get the idea.

So, I eliminated the last Windows entry and renamed the remaining Windows entry. You could do the same if you wanted to.

Thank You,

Yeah, I dunno james, he could have had Win 7 on (hd0,0) and Win XP on (hd0,1) not impossible. Two different partitions.

Would the OP please post output from :

fdisk -l

Well it is possible that RickMura has two copies of Windows installed as you say tararpharazon. It is also possible that Windows 7 is loaded in the second partition and the first is some sort of boot partition, but very small. This is something I have seen with new Windows 7 loads. If that were true, my shorter menu.lst file would still be correct as the first partition boots while Windows 7 is really loaded on the second.

Thank You,

I like this Carl. Much better tthen: YaST > Software Manager …, then …, then… B
Brilliant!

Tks for your help.

My Windows is 7, the Wndows 2 partition is the recovery partition of Windows, I’ll remove this entry from my menu.lst.

^^

Nice screenshot
Are you using the FF addon extension to add the graphics?
Or something completely different?

What FF extension
I use gimp…

lol!lol! Then that would be something completely different.
There’s a FF extension that does annotation something like that but it was too much work for me. Gimp it will be.
Thanks

Incidentally there seems to be a bug in Gimp and has been for some time.
If I do line art, like the arrows, then do some text work.
If I switch back to line art it doesn’t draw. All the actions are there, it’s almost like it’s working with invisible ink.
