how to boot with the opensuse 12.3 - crazy stupid

just burned a dvd with the iso of opensuse 12.3
then i put it into the dvd-drive of the notebook - on which i have opensuse 12,2 up and running.

questions<:
how to start the dvd?
how to do a installation?

do you have any idea!?

do i have to do^some setting-configuration to make the system to read out the dvd!?

the DVD must be selected as the boot device

  1. change selection order of bootable devices in the bios

or

  1. select DVD as boot device, on an hp-g7-2248sg, this can be achieved by
hitting the Esc key on powering up, your laptop may be different, usually key to
press is given on the manufacturers splash screen

hello dear keellamberg many many thanks for your reply.

by the way: the k3b burning process was successful - as the K3B - programme reportet. but i was a bit surprised Track 01: 4320 of 4324 MB written (fifo 100%) [buf 99%] 8.5x. Track 01: 4321 of 4324 MB written (fifo 100%) [buf 99%] 8.2x. Track 01: 4322 of 4324 MB written (fifo 100%) [buf 99%] 8.5x. Track 01: 4323 of 4324 MB written (fifo 100%) [buf 99%] 8.2x. well can we be sure that this iso-file is correct!? Note: with regard on the downloaded files, i can say it has only 4.3 GB - and not 4.7 GB - what do you say bout the K3B-Report??!

@dilbertone

hi,

the K3B-Report looks good

its assumed the download checksum was verified per
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Download_help#Burn_the_ISO_image.28s.29
before the DVD was burnt

best of luck

Did you check the download’s md5sum or sha1sum? See the instructions under the section “Checksums” here:
