How to access the shared printer windows 7

I am using OpenSuse 13.1 and KDE

I installed CUPS, SAMBA and turned off the FIREWALL of the two machines, but can not use the printer that is shared on a machine with Windows 7

The YAST and CUPS do not see the printer
Please any idea?

I typically install hplip as a “helper detection utility” to supplement CUPS. Can also be used for some troubleshooting.

You need to be more clear,
Is the printer shared on a Win7 or something else?

And, if so then have you tested other Windows Shares (a good approach to troubleshooting)?
Set up a Windows file share on the same machine which is sharing the Printer and configure clients to connect.

Ok, I will install hplip.
The printer is plugged into a machine with windows 7,
In this machine there are several folders shares and I can access all of them with Linux
The printer is shared and now I can see and install the printer whit the command:

system-config-printer

That is better than YAST

But the page test don’t is printed

Once your printer is recognized possibly with the assistance with hplip,
You should then go back into CUPS to see what works and doesn’t including printing a test page (I sometimes just open a text editor, type a few characters and send to printer instead of a standard test page).
