How should I do to install the drivers for it graphics card nvidia fx 5200 in openSUSE 13.1

Hello guys!

I was previously using a graphics card Radeon 9600 Pro.
But the graphics card Radeon 9600 Pro is spoiled,
and I replaced it with an Nvidia FX 5200.

How should I do to install the drivers for it graphics card nvidia fx 5200 in openSUSE 13.1 - KDE - 64Bit.

Thank you very much!

You need the G01-drivers.

Note the 01 driver is no longer supported not sure it works with newer kernels at all. may be available for NVIDIA but it may not compile to newer kernels

The following packages has been installed:

x11-video-nvidiaG01
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-desktop
kernel-devel

I rebbot the computer and the system works in “tty1.”
The graphics system does not load.

what I do now?

Thank you very much!

Did you try nomodeset in grub?

Else delete those packages and work with nouveau…

How should I do to work with nouveau?

Thank you!

nouveau is the free Kernel driver for Nvidia Cards…

Should be installed by default.

Hello!

I removed the packages: “x11-video-nvidia-gfxG01” and “nvidia-gfxg01-kpm-desktop”.
I reboot the system and login in “KDE Plasma”… The machine load “KDE”, but the system froze.

Any more ideas?

Thank you!

OpenSUSE comes to charging and is operating for a few minutes, but then freezes in a short time of use.
I get to open the terminal, list files sometimes open the start menu, but when I try to open the start menu
again it freezes and I have to turn the computer off the button.

I went into “init 3” in text mode, and removed the hidden folder “.kde4” and restarted the computer, but did
not solve the problem, the computer freezing again.

Help-me!

Thank you very much!
